Our Club
Our club has been operating right here in Dawson Creek since our beginning in 1955, as the first and oldest club in British Columbia. We are also one of the founding members of the BC Speed Skating Association
The Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club is entirely volunteer run. Our success depends on people being willing to help by serving on the board, or as other volunteers. Please speak with one of the board members to see how you might contribute to the ongoing success of the club.
Board of Directors
Each year, the club holds elections during the Annual General Meeting to fill volunteer positions on the 5-member Board of Directors. Each role has a term of 2 years, unless the individual decides to resign from their position. Members on the Board assist with the day-to-day operations of the club. Coaches
Our coaches are fully certified by NCCP and screened by the RCMP to ensure everyone working directly with our skaters has been cleared to do so.
Our coaches do so much more than bringing our programming onto the ice and development of our skaters. They also serve many crucial roles within the club as well. For more information on becoming a coach visit the BC Speed Skating Coaches webpage here
